Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welding Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing structural steel welding using MIG and TIG techniques for modular base frames and enclosure products. The technician will also operate oxy-acetylene torches and plasma arc equipment to cut steel of varying thicknesses. As part of a collaborative welding team, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality assemblies that meet blueprint specifications and comply with strict safety and ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
A Day In The Life
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Following all company safety guidelines and protocols.
- Passing a welding qualification test.
- Supplying personal welding gear (helmet, chipping hammers, etc.).
- Performing MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on steel and aluminum materials.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and assembly instructions.
- Using oxy-acetylene cutting equipment and metalworking tools (press brakes, drill presses, shears).
- Verifying work against specifications and ensuring quality workmanship.
- Completing time reporting sheets accurately.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Working up to 10 hours per day and weekends as needed.
- Holding a valid driver’s license.
- Passing a background check and drug screening.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- 1–5 years of structural steel welding experience.
- AWS D1.1 welding certification.
- Familiarity with weld testing methods (e.g., dye penetrant).
- Experience with framing and metalworking equipment (shears, brakes, etc.).
- Proficiency with plasma arc cutting and laser measuring tools.
