A Day In The Life
- Coordinate and direct daily operations of the Screw Machine Department to achieve production, quality, delivery, and safety objectives.
- Plan and assign work to operators, setup personnel, and support staff to maximize equipment utilization and labor efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance, production rates, tooling requirements, and setup activities to ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Material Control teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve operational performance.
- Ensure proper machine setup, tooling selection, preventive maintenance, and process control for Acme, Davenport, production lathe, and Swiss lathe operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste reduction, workflow improvements, setup reduction, and standardization of processes.
- Maintain compliance with quality standards and support corrective and preventive actions related to product nonconformance.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for increased productivity, reduced scrap, and improved machine efficiency.
- Train, coach, and develop employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, quality requirements, and departmental expectations.
- Promote and enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, housekeeping requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Communicate production status, capacity constraints, equipment issues, and staffing needs to management.

- High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience (required)
- 6+ years of leadership experience preferred.
- Relevant certification(s) preferred.
- Prior production leadership experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment (required)
- Knowledge and use of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Proficiency in related systems and software.
