Position Overview

The Hubbell Lighting Lab Test Technician position is responsible for the set-up of test samples, set up of test stations, logging test data, monitoring testing, troubleshooting testing, and suspicious test data, and reporting completed test results.  All test are performed to UL and CSA requirements.  This position also interacts with various engineering teams as the customer. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collection of test data
  • Compile test data into test reports
  • Interaction with Test Request database and Data Logger system
  • Ensure tests are performed in accordance with defined test method work instructions
  • Ensures that equipment is properly handled, stored, and maintained to protect the integrity of calibration or service
  • Participates in area quality audits,
  • Follows all area Safety rules
  • Maintains area Housekeeping to include the area, testing fixtures, tools, and equipment
  • Minor equipment maintenance may be expected

Skills and Experience

  • Prefer an associate degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or related applied science program
  • Prefer experience in a testing lab environment
  • Prefer ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
  • Requires competency in MS Office Suite
  • Requires good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Requires good customer service interaction skills
  • Requires general knowledge and experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Requires up to 50 lb. lifting and installation of product test sample on test equipment
