Job Overview

The Human Resources Senior Manager is a key position on the Corporate HR team supporting the organization. This position is responsible for performing human resource capabilities to help drive business growth and support the business. This position will be considered a trusted advisor and provide partnership to the most senior levels of the organization to support the organization’s strategy.

HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the VP, Human Resources Corp/HUBS in supporting the Corporate/HUBS population at Hubbell Incorporated. The position will be considered a trusted advisor to the business in relation to all areas of human resources in support of business strategy.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources management but will also be a leader in developing and implementing the strategic goals of the Human Resources team. The incumbent will also work with colleagues across the HR function to ensure the aligned and effective delivery of HR support and services including but not limited to recruiting, training, development, performance management, compensation, organizational design, employee relations and coaching.

This position reports directly into the Vice President, Human Resources and can be based at one of Hubbell’s primary locations.

A Day In The Life

  • Develop and lead strategies to increase employee engagement and focus on retention for teams the Senior Manager supports with the ability to adjust, as needed, based on feedback
  • Lead key HR initiatives within the groups they support such as talent assessment, succession planning, engagement, development, compensation program development, productivity program, key staffing initiatives, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention and AA/EEO compliance
  • Work with functional leaders as a business partner to align Human Resources initiatives and functions with business initiatives and needs
  • Ensure HR operations enhance and enable business results while providing vision, leadership, and excellence in execution
  • Provide guidance and conduct investigations of any concerns and complaints and involve appropriate individuals, seek Legal advice when appropriate, and successfully resolve employee relations issues with credible, creative, and consistent solutions
  • Analyze competitive salary data, evaluate jobs, and decide upon appropriate wage/salary ranges, in conjunction with Compensation and Benefits teams

  • 10+ years of relevant and progressive Human Resources experience in a sophisticated Business Partner role or broad HR leadership position
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for positions that do and so must be able to advise appropriately and with understanding
  • Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills are required to work on multiple projects simultaneously, particularly in a fast-paced environment
