Position Overview

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing initial product support for Hubbell Lighting's portfolio of products.  Responsibilities include providing alternate products for use, assistance with installation information, and processing warranty claims.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer (internal and external) requests regarding technical questions associated with Hubbell products - communication by email, phone, fax, or in person.
  • Advise customer of correct product to purchase based on their application - with a heavy emphasis on sales.
  • Assist Agents with determining crossover products from specified to Hubbell Lighting product.
  • Decide which parts are replaceable (must consider UL requirements of fixture before approviing if part can be replaced and/or substituted) and assist customer with the associated part number for ordering.
  • When an issue is Warranty related, initiate the Quality Notification process - ensuring information is complete before assigning to the Warranty Engineer.
  • Quickly move any question that you cannot address to the appropriate next level contact.
  • Available as backup to Technical Sales Support Engineer, when necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • Computer Skilss:  Microsoft Office and 365 (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), SAP is required
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to present to an audience - internal and external
  • Three years of Customer Service/facing experience is required
  • Experience with preferred accounts is a plus


High School Diploma
Associates Degree in General Studies
