Position Overview

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Job Summary:

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The individual will be responsible for performing inspection on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met, company quality standards are followed and consistent with current ISO and safety requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Perform random in-process inspections to verify the specifications of the process are being maintained.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Perform first piece inspection upon completion of set-ups, where applicable.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Understand customer requirements as defined on the part drawing; be able to translate this information to operators/set-up personnel when an issue identified.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Know the options which are considered when making a disposition on nonconforming product, the importance of immediately notifying management and preventing the use of the product.         
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Know how to check the calibration status of measuring equipment on the factory floor and know the process for calibration at CMC.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Know how to source quality documentation (standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps, et cetera) and other controlled documentation such as part drawings, inspection charts, et cetera within SAP/ local drive.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Assist in the maintenance and updates of inspection documentation.  Know how to construct an inspection document from the part drawing. Identify where past problems for a part are noted on the shop order and inspection chart and update documentation on SAP, where applicable to make factory floor personnel aware of past issues.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Become familiar with the processes of quality hold, in-process rejection (IPR), material review board (MRB) and internal corrective action.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands to successfully perform the essential function of this job.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or physical ability required.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Education and/or Experience<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> – High School Diploma/GED must be able to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical functions and prior experience reading manual calipers.  Employee should be familiar with current ISO requirements and with engineering drawings.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Language Skills<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> – Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and written.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Mathematical Skills<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> – Basic mathematical skills are required.  Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Reasoning Ability<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> – Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Physical Requirements<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> - Required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.  Required to bend, stoop and lift up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
