Job Overview

As a Project Manager and Operations ideation lead, you will assist IT Business Partner for Operations function in being the IT interface to our business operations and help drive cross functional initiatives. In this role, you will partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand overall goals and objectives and work closely with the IT Business Partner to determine the overall capability roadmap, technology strategy, drive prioritization, and deliver innovative solutions to enable business growth.

You will complete ideation for prioritized initiatives which involves helping business stakeholders define the problem statement, understand the business goals, objectives and expected outcomes from the initiative, determining scope and the impacted systems/teams with the target of identifying the project team and a probable timeline. Once ideation is complete, you will either hand the project execution over to another team or plan, execute and deliver the project as the Project Manager according to the established Hubbell Enterprise Project Management delivery methodology.

A Day in the Life

This role reports directly to the Sr. Director, IT Supply Chain Solutions. Job duties will include:

  • Assisting the Operations IT business partner to establish feature/capability roadmaps and technology roadmaps to support them.
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize projects aligned to business goals and objectives.
  • Driving cross functional strategic transformation initiatives.
  • Ideating prioritized initiatives with business and IT stakeholders to define a project charter, a project team and project timeline.
  • Championing an agile and product centric mindset to deliver incremental value with continuous innovation.
  • Supporting refinement of epics, features, and requirements with the delivery team
  • Managing large scale projects in Operations space including all aspects of project planning, resource management, budgeting and execution for on time and on budget delivery.
  • Collaborating with PMO in support of IT intake process and adherence to the Hubbell Enterprise Project Management delivery methodology.
  • Handling status updates and other communications to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • 5+ years of project management experience in delivering enterprise-wide solutions in IT.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/initiatives in parallel.
  • Successful track record of working all aspects of vendor management including statement of work finalization, onboarding, PO/invoice management, deliverable tracking, and seamless coordination and orchestration of work being done by vendors with what is being delivered by the internal team.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects in cloud and on-prem environments for on-budget and on-time delivery.
  • Accustomed to running scrum style daily meetings as well as weekly status calls and regular stakeholder/sponsor executive report outs.
  • Knowledge of working with Product Centric / Agile planning tools.
  • Passion for driving strong product centric and agile delivery mindset that can drive change within an organization.
  • Ability to drive LEAN thinking and solutions that fit strategic goals of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, locations, and skillsets.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally up to 25%.
  • Must be able to work U.S. EST working hours.
  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Product Owner Certification, PMP, and/or Agile Certification is a plus.

Technical Competencies

  • Expert knowledge in Agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Good experience with Microsoft toolset including Project.
  • Experience in Aha! is preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Experience in leading SAP projects is a plus.

Education
