Division Overview

Position Overview

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant consistent with current ISO requirements, safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards.'

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods by applying sound engineering principles in fixture design, problem solving, and material selection.
  2. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and product flow.  Must apply Lean Manufacturing methods.
  3. Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.Study specifications, engineering blueprints and shop data and confer with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems.
  4. Prepare tool and fixture concepts, coordinate review and approval by manufacturing staff and develop detailed CAD drawings.
  5. Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Skills and Experience

Language Skills - Good communication skills are key.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

Mathematical Skills- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Experience working with consolidations.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Need to be able to exercise good judgment and decision making skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Other Skills and Abilities -  Must be detail oriented. Must be organized and have the ability and drive to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General
