Job Overview

Contribute toward the efficient operation plant wide, by performing various tasks for the departments, utilizing a good knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and building knowledge, while complying with current ISO requirements, all safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards.

A Day In The Life

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on building and equipment per the Maintenance Management System
  • Diagnose the source of equipment problems by observing equipment operations and  trouble shooting methods
  • Initiate material request for parts
  • Perform repairs on buildings and equipment
  • Oversee contractors when repairs require service from outside vendors
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Experience - Two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in these maintenance areas: mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, building infrastructure (compressed air, boilers and heating, water, fire systems)
  • Education and/or experience – High school diploma or GED preferred.  Employee must be able to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical functions.   Computer knowledge and keyboard skills a plus.  Electrical experience required.  PLC Experience preferred.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read and write.  Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memorandums and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills – Basic mathematical skills are required.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.  Problem solving abilities and root cause analysis essential for success.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration – Must possess (acquire through training) and maintain fork lift operator certification.
  • Physical Requirements – The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
