Position Overview

The Hubbell Lighting Photometric Engineering position is responsible for monitoring the output of the Photometric testing and personnel of the NVLAP accredited photometric testing area.  The position has the responsibility for scheduling day-to-day testing, review and approval of test results, and work to ensure the needs of customers are met in an accurate, complete and efficient manner.  The position will confirm, verify and validate that processes are implemented in compliance with NVLAP requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling of testing workflow process, testing backlog, test prioritization and assignment of resources (people and equipment).
  • Provides equipment and testing troubleshooting assistance and support to the team.
  • Reviews test results and data to verify that the test was performed according to accreditation protocols.
  • Confirms data integrity.
  • Ensures samples are labeled, verified for scheduled test, returned to test requestor (or transfer to other test areas) and reports are filed in accordance with industry standards.
  • Communications point of contact for internal customers with regards to Photometric schedule and NVLAP related questions.

Skills and Experience

  • Min. 2+ years in a photometric (Goniophotometer and Sphere) lab testing environment.
  • Requires competency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Pivot tables.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Requires customer service interaction skills.
  • Requires general knowledge and experience using hand tools and power tools.
