Position Overview

We believe all leaders and employees create and maintain a culture of inclusion. As the Director of Inclusion and Diversity, you provide the space, tools and resources for their success. You will work closely with the VP of Talent and Organizational Development, business leaders and HR across the enterprise to build, implement, and sustain inclusive practices in four key areas:

  • Advance

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Partner with VP, Talent and Organizational Development to build the strategy to span talent acquisition, learning, development, retention, associate engagement and culture
  • Work with the Director of Leadership and Development to select, build and provide learning events that increase the capability of leaders and employees to build and participate in inclusive environments where everyone feels they have the opportunity to be successful
  • Work with the Director of Talent Acquisition to review existing recruiting partnerships, develop deeper relationships with current partners, and review additional opportunities to expand and grow our employer brand with broad constituencies.
  • Align with leaders across HR and the business to introduce and embed development and best practices around creating and maintaining inclusive work environments
  • Engage with employees interested in interacting with other employees through Employee Inclusion Groups (EIG) to lead initiatives that increase organizational inclusion
  • Lead company Inclusion initiatives internally and externally to continue to advance Hubbell as a great place for all to work
     

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Expand the existing inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategy while partnering with human resource business partners, other centers of excellence and business leaders to embed I&D actions across the company; lead and influence others outside of your hierarchy to deliver against the priorities
  • Join industry events to promote and expand Hubbell reach and bring in best practice, monitor developments in the I&D space and recommend programs and/or initiatives for Hubbell to engage
  • Serve as a strategic business partner, advisor and leader with our business leaders and HR partners to create action and progress against aligned strategies
  • Work with Talent Acquisition and HRBP’s to ensure diverse candidate slates, key business network groups, and expansion into university recruiting and networking.
  • Partner with existing Employee Inclusion Groups (EIG) to build out inclusion and activities – expand employee resources groups
  • Expand and manage appropriate metrics; partner with Communications and Environmental, Social and Governance teams to report internally and externally
  • Identify, build and sustain external partnerships that help enhance and expand I&D at Hubbell

Qualifications and Skills for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness or Inclusion & Diversity
  • 10+ years related experience in large, complex organizations
  • Confident in facilitating, presenting and speaking to both internal and external audiences
  • Proven track record of leading company-wide initiatives with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills; able to turn data into insights and a compelling narrative on impact
  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels, drive change and work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and expertise of D & I and knowledge of global trends
  • Demonstrate proficiency to engage, influence and work with an executive leadership team
  • Experience leveraging technology and social capability in innovative ways to help leaders develop.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Strong writing skills including the ability to synthesize information into clear, concise messages both for detailed analytical reports and executive summaries.
