This position will provide Product Costing and Operational support for the Wiegmann site located in Freeburg, IL and will report to the Business Unit Controller, Commercial Construction and Industrial. Other responsibilities include ensuring strong control environment and execution of productivity and other improvement actions.
- Serve as key point of contact for the Freeburg, IL site in development of standard costs.
- Provide finance support for site and Commercial Construction leadership.
- Maintain robust controls throughout the businesses and help to identify and address potential risks in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audit activity and assist in timely remediation of any findings or follow up items and work with site to ensure SOX controls are documented and operating effectively.
- Complete monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis regarding production costs and department expenses.
- Provide support for preparing and loading annual operating budget and monthly forecasts as it relates to plant activities.
- Assist in execution of annual physical inventories and cycle counting program (including supervision of Cycle Counting Analyst).
- Maintain responsibility for routine calculation of accruals (i.e. E&O inventory and warranties).
- Provide finance support for projects, including capital, major maintenance, and restructuring.
- Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of the close process through enhancement of existing procedures and utilization of financial systems and tools.
- Complete ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed.
- 4-6 years Manufacturing Accounting experience.
- BS in Accounting/Finance required, CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Good working knowledge of transactional accounting and internal controls | SOX.
- Deep understanding of cost accounting, product costing and analysis of manufacturing variances.
- SAP and HFM knowledge is helpful.
- Expert knowledge of MS Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables) and Powerpoint.
- Experience in implementing finance and accounting best practices.
- Self-starter who is able to work independently and execute projects effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence change across all levels of the organization.
