Position Overview

Evaluates purchased product demand information, creating and expediting purchase orders, while utilizing the most effective supply chain processes with individual suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors and utilizes daily MRP system output to determine material requirements.
  • Maintain optimal planning parameters including safety stock, minimums, lead time and rounding values.
  • Maintain purchasing information records on all parts and suppliers.
  • Minimizes inventory levels while supporting production and customer requirements.
  • Works closely with shop floor, sales, and engineering personnel with material issues and improvements.
  • Enter purchase orders and relays orders to suppliers.
  • Reviews records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
  • Evaluates total cost of items purchased for maximizing lowest total costs.
  • Works closely with suppliers in creating and maintaining optimal supply chain support.
  • Evaluates prices, specification, and delivery lead times in selecting ideal suppliers.
  • Reviews inventory levels at an aggregate level and recommends changes in the Master Plan.
  • Reviews supply chain processes and recommends needed actions.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree and 1-2 years experience preferred.
  • SAP, SAP BI software experience is preferred.
  • Be able to multi-task and work under tight time constraints.
  • APCS Certification desired.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • MS Office proficient.
