Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Intern to support 3 key projects related to our Reliaguard products. Our Internship Program runs May - August 2024. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create technical documentation, aligning our entire catalog of products to applicable ANSI documentation standards. Working closely with product engineers, production molders, and quality control, the engineer will be required to determine the appropriate level of detail required, and create drawings to suit. Additionally, the Engineering Intern will assist in creating customer focused drawings, with the guidance of sales staff.
  • Establish packaging reports of existing product designs. The engineering intern will create CAD assemblies of products and create images for reports.
    Working alongside the team, they will test package fitments and create documentation specific to each material for shipping considerations.
  • Sit in on DFM and mold flow meetings for upcoming injection mold products
  • Create customer facing instruction guides for the remainder of our product line. Working with end-users, the engineering intern will create technical documentation that clearly and succinctly illustrates the processes required to install our products in the field.

Skills and Experience

  • Junior, Senior or Recent Grad from Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience using Solidworks software
  • Experience in Solid Modeling software 
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop
