Job Overview
- 1st shift M - F 6 - 230pm 27.14/hr and 2nd shift 27.14/hr plus .50 shift differential pay M - TH 2:15pm - 12:45am
- Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications and tool instructions
- Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder
- Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures
- Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut
- 1st piece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs)
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specifications
- Requires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers
- Keeps work area clean and orderly
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
A Day In The Life
- Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools
- Set up and Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC milling centers and CNC lathes
- Adjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerances
- Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct
- Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product
- Meet efficiency rates
- Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S
- Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
- Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE
- Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are meant.
