Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Provide LEAN/Six Sigma leadership and support across BURNDY US operations in concert with site-based LEAN personnel and site management. This will be achieved by developing a world class organization and methodically implementing the strategic objectives (a unique combination of strategic planning, strategy deployment, lean management/manufacturing techniques and six sigma tools).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct site-based LEAN personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement in area of safety, quality, delivery, costs, and working capital.
  • Project management leadership and implementation of LEAN/Six Sigma initiatives related to manufacturing process improvements, product transfers, and restructuring projects.
  • Responsible on leading teams to meet Savings goals.
  • Coordinate internal LEAN training program that includes employees from different sites in Mexico.
  • Actively participate in bringing and sharing best practices across Hubbell sites.

Skills and Experience

  • Five-plus years’ experience in a manufacturing/project management environment. 
  • Three to five years of supervisory/management transformational experience required.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Five-plus years Lean/Six Sigma practical experience. 
  • Five to seven years shop and/or engineering experience.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement and problem-solving techniques like Lean, Six Sigma, 8 Disciplines, structured root cause analysis process, etc.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office required. 
  • Solid understanding of financial factors such as costs, margins, and profit impact of decisions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General
