Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Schedule product to exceed customer requirements
  • Maintain production schedule and manage production orders accordingly
  • Release purchase orders for assigned materials Raw, WIP, Sub-contract, and FG
  • Release customer Sales orders from the planning queue based on material availability and lead-times
  • Drive topnotch Customer On-Time Delivery and Demonstrated Lead Time while maintaining optimal inventory levels

Duties and Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Release purchase requisitions and/or purchase orders to Buyers and suppliers
  • Work with Quality, Operations, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
  • Release customer orders to achieve expected delivery performance
  • Manage customer returned goods (RGA) using the RGA procedure
  • Maintain current promise dates on customer orders
  • Manage inventory levels for assigned product to support business objectives
  • Review and maintain accurate Customer/internal & external lead times
  • Schedule work through the shop floor
  • Expedite parts within and outside the Company
  • Prioritize work orders and coordinate with Operations to exceed customer requirements, work to maintain work center capacity
  • Interact with customer service
  • Analyzes and adjusts, as necessary, production schedules that are affected by changes in raw material and equipment
  • Monitor and manage MRP generated exception messages, production order compliance, purchase order date management
  • Assist with physical inventory preparation

Skills and Experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to travel on business related trips; ability to move to various locations within the Company; ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required

LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING: 

  • Acts independently and is responsible for most of the day-to-day planning/scheduling activities.
  • Must identify and resolve repetitive and sometimes complex planning/scheduling issues

RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND           

  • 4-year degree in Business or related field, preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Current or formal SAP user preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive planning/scheduling experience in ERP system
