Job Overview
The Lead Project Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for the Meramec account support team and acts as the functional lead for all customer‑facing activities. This role owns the end‑to‑end support process, ensuring it delivers efficient, high‑quality service that meets the elevated expectations of OEM customers.
The Lead Project Specialist provides day‑to‑day leadership, guiding a team of Project Specialists to maintain operational excellence, streamline workflows, and resolve customer issues with urgency and professionalism. This role is responsible for cultivating strong, trust‑based relationships with OEM partners and aligning support activities with their strategic and technical needs.
Key responsibilities include participating in customer meetings, technical discussions, and quarterly business reviews, as well as understanding customer organizational structures to effectively navigate procurement, engineering, quality, and logistics functions.LI

- Maintain strong knowledge of company product lines.
- Develop working knowledge of the HV equipment market, customer trends, standards (IEC/IEEE), and competitive landscape.
- Process and manage orders, forecasts, scheduling, and changes with accuracy and urgency.
- Lead daily workflow coordination for the Project Specialist team, ensuring timely response, prioritization, and resolution of OEM customer needs.
- Serve as the primary SME for complex OEM support inquiries, guiding the team on technical, commercial, and process‑related issues.
- Monitor active orders, schedules, and deliverables to proactively identify risks and drive corrective actions with cross‑functional teams.
- Facilitate communication between OEM customers and internal engineering, quality, operations, and logistics stakeholders.
- Review and refine support processes to improve efficiency, eliminate pain points, and enhance consistency across the team.
- Participate in OEM customer calls, technical discussions, and project reviews; provide clear updates and represent the support organization.
- Analyze key performance metrics (cycle time, responsiveness, accuracy, customer feedback) and act on improvement opportunities.
- Coach and mentor Project Specialists through real‑time problem solving, training, and process reinforcement.
- Ensure documentation, workflows, and customer records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with standards.
- Escalate critical issues with context and recommended actions, supporting rapid decision‑making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM account counterparts through proactive communication and partnership.
- Function as the process owner by identifying gaps, proposing changes, and implementing improvements that enhance the customer experience.

- Working knowledge of bushing current transformers, or similar industrial products.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, datasheets, or BOMs (preferred).
- Familiarity with OEM qualification processes and supply chain expectations.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and professional customer engagement.
- Ability to navigate complex customer organizations and build strong long‑term relationships.
- Comfortable presenting information to purchasing, engineering, and management teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skilled in order management, ERP systems, and customer communication tools.
- Effective problem‑solver with cross‑functional coordination skills.
- Required 10+ years in customer service, account coordination, inside sales, or technical support within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience with OEM or tier‑1 supplier relationships is a major advantage.
