Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

This position manages the HPS Electric Utility business at Oncor & authorized channel partners in the Dallas/Ft. Worth marketplace that directly service Oncor.  The Key Account Manager is responsible for knowledge of the HPS Products, planning & tracking opportunities, and growing the HPS relationship/position with Oncor and distributors.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Development of functional knowledge of the position by understanding the drivers of the HPS organization, BU’s and products, and management of certain relationships within multiple levels of the key account
  • Meet/exceed sales objectives while driving Hubbell Power Systems market share growth
  • Effectively manage distributor relationships (Irby, Wesco/Anixter, Telecom Electric Supply)
  • Assist Account Executive in planning/forecasting and the development of a strategic growth strategy
  • Amenable with taking specific direction from HUS Account Executive 
  • Manage key end user account through consistent exposure for HPS and an understanding of the key drivers to their business and spending
  • Maximize product approvals for specified product lines
  • Develop and execute a short-term and long-term plan for market share growth
  • Analyze market to identify new business opportunities
  • Drive end user preference for Hubbell Power Systems’ products at the key account. 

Skills and Experience

RECOMMENDED BACKGROUND: Engineering / Business degree preferred.  Above average presentation skills, strong written and oral English skills and 5-10 years of utility industry experience.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Willing to travel in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Midland/Odessa, East Texas

OTHER ATTRIBUTES: Strength in effective communication by projecting self-confidence, authority, enthusiasm, and the ability to make continuous use of technology to improve sales performance

Intrinsic knowledge and proficiency of CRM (Salesforce)

Strength in prioritization of tasks in order to devote the appropriate time to strategic areas of importance

Must be a strong leader with a vision for the future of key account growth, capable of managing regular sales activity, and be effective working with internal departments (BU management/personnel, pricing group management/personnel, customer service management/personnel) to drive results.


Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Business
