Position Overview

Production Planner will lead the efforts for planning, scheduling, and maintaining important metrics pertaining to production lines with goals of shipping products to customer driven dates. Planners will be highly involved in evaluating strengths and weaknesses of their production lines & encouraged to work towards improvements around lead time / service (timely delivery) and overall efficiency. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling of production materials to ensure the shortest lead time & timely customer delivery.
  • Supervise material shortages & trace shortage incidents to root cause
  • Maintain manufacturing & fabrication processes, procedures, & equipment 
  • Maintain all of company safety procedures
  • Work with daily / weekly goals, along with long term projects driven by systematic data
  • Review production reports; plan production activity for areas necessary to meet weekly production schedule while maintaining a leveled schedule 
  • Meet daily with manufacturing supervisors & production manager to discussion production schedules & problem solve

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field OR equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years experience in Manufacturing or demonstrated ability as a manufacturing planner 
  • Strong discipline in product quality & safety standards
  • Experience in SAP, Microsoft Office suite; Power BI preferred
  • Strong experience in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Sharp analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects amongst daily goals
  • Able to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to adjust to changing demands and prioritize
  • Customer first mentality with competitive drive to succeed
  • Technical certifications, such as APICS certification, preferred
