Position Overview

We are looking for an Electro-mechanical Engineer who is good in basics of electrical engineering concepts and expertise in design and development of medium voltage protection and switching product line

Duties and Responsibilities

• Interact with US clients to understand and gather project requirements.
• Lead design & development of Overhead medium voltage protection system/ sub-system as per marketing requirements.
• Research, review, and implement best-practices, new and emerging technologies, and design patterns to new and existing development.
• Generate conceptual 3D design, engineering calculations and detailed design for extensive range of electro-mechanical products using Autodesk Inventor.
• Converting the ideas into practically feasible product-oriented design.
• Validate the conceptual design integrity using FEA analysis.
• Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings as required for part manufacturing with GD&T.
• Create Drawings based on ASME Y14.5M – 1994 standards.
• Support for the electrical product testing with respect to IEEE standards.
• Generate documentation including design spec, part drawings, engineering bill of materials and assembly drawing per Hubbell standard.
• Working knowledge in Vault and SAP based engineering change management process.
• Knowledge on DFM and DFA is an added advantage.

Skills and Experience

M.Tech – Power systems / B.Tech – Electrical or Mechanical engineerin. Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical industry dealing with medium voltage protection and switching products

• Sound knowledge in designing medium voltage disconnecting switches and load break switches.
• Hands on experience in fault current interrupting products such as VCB/ACB or recloser or circuit breaker or fusing product design (any one preferred).
• Hands on experience in designing latch-based holding & actuating mechanism for VCB/ACB/recloser/capacitor switches (any one preferred).
• Knowledge in arc plasma physics and its interruption
• Knowledge in electro-mechanical and electro-magnetic assemblies.
• Basic knowledge in magnetics design & selection of electro-mechanical actuators like solenoids & Ct’s or transformers.
• Basic experience in fault breaking test, di-electric testing, short time withstand current test and its result interpretation.
