Job Overview

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies of new and sustaining product-lines. They perform engineering activities ensuring the accomplishments of production, quality and cost-related objectives and the compliance with Hubbell quality product certifications.
 

A Day In The Life

Everyday at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you will make a difference by:

  • Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOM's using CAD tools like Autodesk Inventor.
  • Carry on "Engineering change management" activities using CAD tools and Fiori application.
  • Apply GD&T principles, conduct design reviews, collaborate with CFT like quality, marketing and supply chain team.
  • Support prototype development, testing and validation activities.
  • Maintain design documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Work within SAP for product data management and change control processes.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for existing products including design updates, issue resolution, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Continuously improve designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 years of experience in product design and development.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in GD&T and Manufacturing feasibility study.
  • Knowledge in electrical products applications is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, Mathematical Skills, Reasoning Ability.
  • Working knowledge on ECN process and creation through SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
