BURNDY Technology and Global Business Services Private Limited (HUBBELL INDIA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hubbell Inc.  Hubbell India provides Engineering Services, Business Solutions and IT Services. Hubbell Engineering located in Ascendas, ITPL,Chennai, is engaged in the business of computer aided design and engineering services. The Hubbell Business Solutions functions at Infopark Kochi, provide superior business intelligence, knowledge services and business process solutions across Hubbell divisions and Corporate.  IT Services team is spread across Chennai and Kochi.

Hubbell Electrical Products LLP located in Chennai is poised to assist with part and product manufacturing for all Hubbell Business units

Job Overview

We are looking forward to “Engineer – Lighting Design” based in Chennai, India. The position requires a highly energetic, result-driven, self-motivated, and proactive individual with sound knowledge of Lighting Design and Documentation. The candidate should also possess strong Leadership, interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills. Other core competency requirements are Customer focus, Strategic thinking, Functional Excellence, Integrity & Ethics, and Professional Maturity.

Overall candidate should have around 3 to 4 years of experience in Lighting Layout design and Documentation. Good Knowledge of Industrial lighting designs for Harsh and Hazardous industries. Need to collaborate & work with US product engineering team and Sales team. Having hands on experience in AGI32 software for Lighting design and calculations.

• Good command of lighting design and standards. Ability to understand foreign country standards to ensure submittal is in line with requirements.
• Awareness of standard drawing practices, symbols, and nomenclatures.
• Knowledge on new concepts and trends in Harsh & Hazardous Lighting.
• Knowledge on Zone classifications, ATEX & IECEx certifications will be an added advantage.
• Can understand and interpret tender and contract technical documents/ drawings
• Can interact with internal and external stakeholders to understand, develop, and communicate on technical matters of projects.
• Can work with multiple teams to arrive at a solution even in multiple time zones.

What will help you thrive in this role?

• To create the lighting layout & sketches complete with product specifications & design documentation using design software Agi32.
• Analyze & understand the project requirements to create the detailed lighting design study as per Harsh & Hazardous location standards / Other regulatory codes, standards, and design criteria.
• To prepare day-to-day design documentation as per project requirements
• Inter discipline coordination on projects and workflows.
• To support for Technical Cross Specifications and creation of BOQ’s
• Lighting design layouts to meet qualitative and quantitative parameters, which may or may not be explicit in project requirements but are considered as good practice.
• Record time spent on projects, productive hours, rework hours, scrap hours and ensure maximum productivity of own effort.
• Day to day interaction with team members when assigned for a group project.
