We are looking forward for “Sr Engineer – Mechanical Design” based in Chennai, India. The position requires a highly energetic, result-driven, self-motivated, and proactive individual with sound knowledge of Mechanical Design and development. The candidate should also possess strong Leadership, interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills. A Day In The Life

  • Create and maintain engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5M–2009 standards, ensuring proper GD&T application and accuracy.
  • Design and develop products in accordance with UL, IEEE, and NEMA standards to meet regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault, and SolidWorks.
  • Perform 2D to 3D legacy drawing conversion and manage Engineering Change (EC) processes effectively.
  • Apply strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design validation to ensure manufacturability and performance.
  • Create a wide range of deliverables including prototype drawings, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, catalog drawings, and packaging layouts.
  • Utilize top-down design methodologies, including skeleton modelling and CAD API-based assembly structuring.
  • Maintain accurate product data, documentation, and revision control using product database and PLM systems.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, documentation practices, and meet critical project timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

What will help you thrive in this role?

Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, 5-8 years experience in product design.

Hands on experience in the field of Mechanical CAD & Engineering Change Process.

Knowledge in Arresters / Substation / Transmission / Distribution Products design.

Exposure to design standardization and product platforms.

Expert in Autodesk Inventor (Parts, Assemblies, Drawings)

Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD

Strong knowledge of parametric design and rule-based engineering

Basic experience in CAD APIs (Inventor iLogic / VBA / .NET or SolidWorks API)

Basic exposure to Drive Works (Xpress or Pro)
