Job Overview

We are looking forward to “Engineer – Mechanical Design” based in Chennai, India. The position requires a highly energetic, result-driven, self-motivated, and proactive individual with sound knowledge of Mechanical Design and development. The candidate should also possess strong Leadership, interpersonal, presentation, communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder relationship management skills. Other core competency requirements are Customer focus, Strategic thinking, Functional Excellence, Integrity & Ethics, and Professional Maturity.

Overall candidates should have around 3 to 6 years of experience in Mechanical design engineer. Good Knowledge of Product Design and Development of electromechanical products (casting & machining design). Need to collaborate & work with US product engineering team. Design the product as per UL, IEEE and NEMA standards.

A Day In The Life

• Good knowledge in casting component design. (Drafts, parting line & casting defects).
• Good knowledge in sand casting, die casting & per mold casting process.
• Good knowledge in creating casting drawings and machining drawings.
• Good knowledge in machining process, surface finish & secondary manufacturing process.
• Candidate should have knowledge in Aluminum & copper materials.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks software modeling, Assembly configurations, and drafting.
• Need to create Drawings based on ASME Y14.5M – 2009 standards.
• Need to work on sales order, SAP Engineering change management activity.
• Able to create manufacturing, sales, catalog, and Assembly packaging drawings.
• knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• knowledge of DFMA guidelines while designing the product.
• Knowledge of UL and IEEE standards
• Should have good communication skills oral & written. Interact with US engineers to understand the requirements of the project
• Should act as technical interface to US team and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedules
• Maintain high-Quality standards, project documentation & deliver projects within a critical timeline.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Min. 3 to 6 years Design engineering. (Casting Design experience)

Hands-on experience in the field of casting & machine component design

Good Knowledge on casting manufacturing processes (Drafts, Parting line creation, casting defects)

Candidate should have knowledge in Aluminum & copper materials.

Knowledge of UL Standards. Good knowledge of GD&T

Good knowledge in 3D modeling and assembly using Autodesk Inventor & SolidWorks Software.

Good Communication Skills
