Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for the engineering, reliability, maintenance, and future equipment needs for the Chatsworth, CA manufacturing facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise as it pertains to polymer concrete casting and fiberglass chop spray processes.
  • Lead future projects to install manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Support plant production requirements and minimize downtime of all existing equipment operation.
  • Lead equipment relocation projects, which includes layouts, SOW’s, capital requests, and execution.
  • Develop and/or support plant projects that improve production via automation and implementation of leading-edge technology to help maintain Hubbell’s competitive industry advantage in manufacturing.
  • Design/support all plant/facility electrical requirements and usage on an ongoing basis.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Strong experience in both sustaining and improving multiple processes
  • 5 – 8 years manufacturing experience in a multifaceted and “hands on” environment
  • Project management experience from start to finish
  • Capital justification and process improvement
  • Proficient in computer operations (MS Office, MS Project, CAD, Visio)
  • Must be able to stand/walk 10-90% of workday
  • Occasional bending and squatting required
  • Occasional lifting required (up to 40lbs)
  • Access, SQL and Visual Basic experience
  • Lean background and experience…Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, 5S, Kan Ban, etc.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
