A Day In The Life

Hubbell is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support in managing and overseeing the shipping operations of the Chatsworth Facility. The Coordinator ensures that goods are shipped efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This person will work with the Planning and Production teams to gather necessary information to schedule shipments and process transactions in SAP EWM system.

 

  • Schedule shipments and ensure that products are shipped on time and in excellent condition.
  • Coordinate the loading of trucks, setting up delivery routes, and unloading of material.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
  • Prepare shipping documents, like invoices, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as legal regulations and safety standards.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to shipping or transportation.
  • Prepare regular reports on shipping activities, inventory levels, and transportation costs for upper management.
  • Utilize SAP EWM software for managing shipments and tracking inventory.

What will help you thrive in this role?

 

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a Shipping Coordinator or similar role required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations and requirements related to shipping and freight logistics.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and database management, preferably SAP
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or relevant field preferred.
  • Strong sense of urgency and desire to get product shipped quickly and efficiently
