Job Overview

The Systems Expeditor in Manufacturing plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and information across various departments. This position is responsible for tracking and expediting the progress of components, assemblies, and products through the manufacturing process to meet production schedules and quality standards.  The position will be compensated based on experience, pay range is expected to be $72-$75,000 per year (non-exempt).  The Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the LA Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO).

A Day In The Life

  • Monitor production schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Track the progress of goods through the manufacturing process using SAP EWM.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays in the material movement process and work through system resolutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between different departments such as procurement, production, quality control, and logistics.
  • Report status updates and potential risks to functional managers and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Recommend improvements to internal processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of all expediting activities.
  • Prepare reports and documentation.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as an expeditor or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management and materials management.
  • Proficient in the use of SAP ECC or S/4 and WM as well as MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Desired Skills:

 

  • Certification in supply chain management or inventory management.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
