Job Overview
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining all EHS Programs for the facility with the primary objective of eliminating workplace injuries and maintaining facility safety and compliance, including environmental and workers compensation cases management. Pay begins beween $70- 80k. Benefits begin 1st of the month following hire date.

A Day In The Life
- Implement and maintain written EHS programs for the facility such as IIPP.
- Conduct hazard analysis and administer programs to reduce work-related injuries and accidents.
- Track and report on leading and lagging safety metrics. Analyze data and work with plant supervision on ideas for improvement.
- Complete risk reduction activities in collaboration with the operations team.
- Conduct incident investigations in partnership with operations to identify the root cause using tools such as the Cause-and-Effect matrix or the Five why’s technique.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local EHS regulations and interact with these agencies as required.
- Manage the worker compensation cases, engage with Human Resources, to ensure proper case management and develop proper reporting KPI’s
- Implement and uphold internal company policies, guidelines, and best practices.
- Develop and provide EHS training to employees as needed.
- Lead permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Sponsor and provide guidance to the site's Safety Committee.
- Coordinate activities with business unit and Corporate EHS managers.
- Create and manage Chemical Safety programs and drive compliance with regulatory agencies and Hubbell-specific requirements.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental discipline with 2-5 years EHS experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred
- Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.
- Familiarity in dealing with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Hands-on knowledge of Worker’s compensation process including recordability and reportability, and engaging with brokers and clinics
- Strong working knowledge of chemical safety regulations and chemical safety compliance
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and works well in teams.
- Problem solver that will collaborate with other departments to develop mutually agreeable solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
