Division Overview

Position Overview

Hubbell Armorcast Products is currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic (A) to work at our Chatsworth, CA location during our night shift crew. This is a fulltime position with 40 hours a week and with a possibility of overtime. The incumbant will work in highly dynamic maintenance department performing preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting equipment and facility equipment and building issues in a safe and cogent manner.

Maintenance Mechanics (A) begin at $32.00 per hour. In addition, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention sign on bonus on the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Follow Company safety and break policies, work in a safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity, identify any unsafe facility or equipment issue, and properly lock and tag out.  
  1. Must have good working knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain and repair of facility and production type equipment related to a Polymer Concrete Manufacturing facility that uses Autocasting casting equipment, hydraulic compression molding presses, FRP spray, large paddle mixing, metal bending punching, forming, bending and welding, and air compressor.  
  1. Must be a self-starter, communicate and work with other maintenance facility personnel/mechanics.  
  1. Effectively communicate and follow-up with internal manufacturing area supervisors/personnel. 
  1. Take action when unsure of facility and equipment work safety, ask questions when unsure.  
  1. Keep area clean, follow good housekeeping practices.  
  1. Maximum Lifting Policy is 50 pounds. 

Skills and Experience

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

Equivalent Education/Experience: 

  1. 5 - 10 years minimum in facilities maintenance. 

  1. Bilingual is a plus but not required. 

  1. High school diploma preferred but not required. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: 

  1. Ability to be a self-starter, work in a group environment and help others when needed. 

  2. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. 

  3. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  1. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  

  1. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies 

  1. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly communicate issues.
