Job Overview

Hubbell is currently seeking to hire 1st Shift Press Setup Mechanic. The Press Setup Mechanic will be performing mold setups for all hydraulic compression molding presses in a safe and cogent manner. The base pay for this is $23.50. In addition, as a newlyhired employee, you will be eligible for a Retention sign on bonus of $1000 after 90 days worked with Hubbell.  As a brand new hire, you will be eligible for benefits begining 1st of the month following hire date. 

A Day In The Life

  • Follow Company safety and break policies, work in a safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity, identify any unsafe facility or equipment issue, and properly lock and tag out. 
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Understand and Metric and Imperial systems of measure
  • Effectively communicate and follow-up with internal manufacturing area supervisors/personnel.
  • Do not operate any equipment that you are unsure is safe. 
  • Must be able to use assembly tools such as wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc…
  • Have a visual acuity of 20/20 and be able to inspect molds before and after their use on the press.Keep setup area clean, follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Maximum Lifting Policy is 50 pounds.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 
Equivalent Education/Experience:
1.    Experience with hydraulic presses preferred 
2.    High school diploma preferred but not required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
1.    Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
2.    Ability to work in a group environment and help others when needed.
3.    Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
1    Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
2    Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
3    Must be able to  lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly communicate issues.
