Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Effectively lead HR team in multiple locations with full cycle recruitment, benefits, employee/labor relations, and training functions. This position is essential in supporting the business by collaborating with the management team to staff the organization with qualified candidates, reduce turnover, improve organizational effectiveness, and resolve both strategic and day-to-day employee/labor issues.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Effectively lead and manage the HR function in multiple locations (MO and NY)
  • Responsible for interpreting and ensuring compliance within all policies, company processes, and state/federal employment law
  • Positively influence the leadership team on HR initiatives and effectively communicate with all levels of employees
  • Provide leadership in all areas of the HR function:
    • Labor Relations
    • Performance Management
    • Compensation and Benefits Administration
    • Recruiting
    • Onboarding
    • Retention
    • Engagement & Positive Employee Relations
    • Communications
    • Leave of Absence
    • Diversity and Inclusion
    • Unemployment
    • Assisting in HRIS transactions, as needed
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MS or MBA is a plus
  • 7-10 years of HR leadership experience in a manufacturing role
  • Experience in Employee Relations, including grievance, disciplinary, dismissal etc
  • Experience with contract negotiations and administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong computer experience required, Microsoft Suite, SAP-SuccessFactors and or ADP experience a plus
  • Influential leader and strategic problem solver
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification a plus
  • Travel may be required (up to 30%)
