Job Overview

The Recruiting Specialist supports the HR Department and the facility management team with full cycle recruitment, benefits, employee relations, and payroll assistance for multiple business units. This position is essential in supporting the business by collaborating with the management team to reach goals and objectives of the company. Primary responsibility of this role will be for staffing and retention and to take the staffing function of the department to the next level.

A Day In The Life

As a Recruiting Specialist, your role will be fast-paced and varied. On any given day you may find yourself at a local job fair, sharing company and career information with students, screening candidates by phone or conducting in-person interviews alongside hiring managers. You will work closely with hiring managers to understand what they are looking for in candidates and to ensure recruiting efforts are in line with hiring needs. You will interact with others almost continuously, from candidates, to hiring managers, business leaders, and new hires. You will be the first 'face' of Hubbell to new hires, so the time, effort and energy spent bringing them onboard will be invaluable!

 

  • You will design and implement overall recruiting strategy, adjusting as necessary with an eye toward best practices.

  • The incumbent will also prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate sites and venues.

  • It will be critical to plan, market, conduct and attend hiring events as needed.

  • Sourcing and recruiting candidates through various schools, programs, sites and media will be required.

  • You will lead all recruiting efforts to include screening, interviewing, skills testing, extending offers, coordinating pre-employment screening, new hire paperwork, employment verification and onboarding of all new employees.

  • The Recruiting Specialist manages the internal employee job bid process in compliance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

  • You must be comfortable delivering group HR presentations such as new employee orientations and other training classes.

  • You must be the subject matter expert for group insurance programs and employee enrollment.

  • Tracking and maintaining accurate position and headcount data is extremely important at all times.

  • You must complete weekly reporting of staffing, turnover/retention.

  • And you will need to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and national employment laws as well as internal policy and procedure.

  • Previous experience recruiting for manufacturing/industrial positions.
  • Being proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • A strong ability to manage time and competing priorities effectively.
  • Functioning highly in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Being self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Being comfortable dealing with complex issues, conflict resolution and ambiguity.
  • Prior experience maintaining data and operating an HR Information and Applicant Tracking System would be extremely helpful.
  • Holding a Bachelor's degree is also strongly preferred.
