Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in the Construction Business Unit of Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS). The primary products helical anchors, pole line hardware and fiberglass items used in construction of the electric utility grid. This role is responsible for product design, application engineering, testing, and lifecycle maintenance. The Engineering Manager will also support global business development and drive innovation through new product development (NPD) and product line maintenance (PLM).

A Day In The Life
Leadership and Management
- Recruit, train, and develop engineering staff.
- Set objectives and create performance dashboards for direct reports.
- Contribute to departmental budgeting and strategic planning.
- Create an environment of trust and transparency within the department.
- Oversee engineering tools, methods, and best practices.
Product & Application Engineering
- Lead product line maintenance
- Manage prototype assembly and testing (lab and field).
- Work cooperatively with HUS Project Managers on NPD initiatives.
- Drive product line extensions and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Guide the development of new products through the ETO and NPD processes.
Technical Oversight
- Review and approve engineering changes (ECs), deviations, and first-article inspections.
- Supervise 2D/3D CAD modeling and drawing creation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Shared responsibility for product compliance, application decisions, and project planning.
Customer & Industry Engagement
- Provide technical support to Sales for product applications.
- Deliver technical training to internal teams and customers.
- Represent the company at seminars, trade shows, and industry events.
- Author technical reports and papers for publication.

Qualifications
- Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Materials Engineering. Advanced degree a plus.
- Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in at least one U.S. state is a plus but not required.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years as an engineer in related field
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD, and other engineering software tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in 3D printing and prototyping.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office/365 applications.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Comfortable communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Capable of working on-site at project and test locations, including construction site situations.
