Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Business Unit Manager - Civil Construction

<span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Provide overall product leadership and management of assigned product lines related to the Civil Construction product offering.  Generate new product ideas and follow through with their developments which may also include establishing policies for pricing, promotion, and training materials. Ability to communicate technical applications to both internal and external customers.

Business Unit Manager - Civil Construction Position Overview
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Responsible for new product development to include assisting with voice of customer, development of technical requirements, pricing, product application, and product changes.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Generate new product ideas based on market demands and sound business analysis.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Lead development of new markets to increase sales of existing products.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Guide new product launches, including specifying features, marketing plans, and launch materials.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Create or revise business and marketing plans for existing products, product expansions and new product launches.
Plan, organize, and direct the sales and marketing activity for the Civil Product Line.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Assist customer service on product application, customer issues, and customer opportunities.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Establish and maintain pricing structure for assigned products including development of database to capture market feedback.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Provide detailed product training to Civil customers, distributors and sales representatives for assigned product lines. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Periodically travel with the Civil sales force to make joint customer calls.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Actively participate in trade shows related to helical anchor systems, Deep Foundation industry and geotechnical solutions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Participate in sales training schools, industry meetings, etc. in support assigned product lines.

Marketing, Strategic Planning, New Product Development
  • Previous experience in brand marketing.
  • Previous experience in channel management.
BS Engineering or Business
Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Business
Construction, Deep Foundation
