A Day In The Life

Troubleshoot PLC, computer based controls, robotic equipment, etc that support manufacturing processes and control facility functions

Analyze testing procedures to ensure quality products and performance

Recommend and design control changes or upgrades on existing equipment to increase reliability and performance

Recommend and specify new automation and/or PLC controlled equipment
What will help you thrive in this role?
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- AS degree in Automation, Electronics or suitable technical field - required
- Strong Electrical Acumen - Controls upgrade experience (Allen Bradley, PLC, HMI/MMI, VFDS)
- Knowledge in all versions of Rockwell software - RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, and Studio 5000
- Proficient in programming languages - Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block, and Sequential Function Chart
- Knowledge in variance HMI software - RSView, Factory talk, View designer, Maple systems, & Siemens
- Previous experience with Allen Bradly/Rockwell Automation PLC automation languages required
- Previous experience with ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa, & Fanuc robotics. Other robotic/cobot experience will be acceptable
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering prints, wiring diagrams, logic representations and drawings
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in technical problem solving, and working in cross functional environments
- Experience in robotic welding, targeting, & torch angles (ABB)
- 5+ years of experience in automation troubleshooting activities at a manufacturing operation - preferred
- BS degree in Engineering or Electronics - preferred
- High Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programing
- Robotic certification
- Welding certification
