Job Overview
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist reports to the EHS Manager and supports DMC Power’s safety and environmental compliance programs. This role is responsible for conducting inspections of work areas, departments, and job sites to ensure safe work practices and environmentally compliant conditions. Key responsibilities include incident investigation, corrective action tracking, process improvement initiatives, safety project support, and daily management of EHS data and reporting. The EHS Specialist ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations and supports continuous improvement of workplace safety programs.
The ideal candidate is highly self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and passionate about workplace safety and employee well‑being. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, sound judgment, and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach. Flexibility to support off‑shift activities as needed is required.
This position will be based in our Carson, California location. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $85,000-$95,000 per year. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. A Day In The Life
- Ensure & promote compliance with Federal, State, and Local EHS regulations as well as internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.
- Integrate environmental and safety considerations into work practices at all levels.
- Participate in Incident Investigations including Root Cause Analysis and development of Corrective Actions.
- Track corrective actions from near misses, safety suggestions, accidents & gemba walks to closure.
- Assist Operations or any other personnel with the safety process as needed or as requested.
- Build relationships and communicate at all levels of the organization to intertwine the Safety Culture into the business processes.
- Provide recommendations on safety improvements, safety processes, and equipment related to safety.
- Support & provides guidance to Safety Committee & Steering Committee.
- Maintain safety equipment - keep replenished and maintained as required.
- Conduct regular safety and health inspections & audits of the production area.
- Document, organize and maintain physical & digital environmental, health & safety records.
- Functions as an alternate emergency coordinator, implements emergency response plans and procedures.
- Will serve as a First Responder to injuries & medical emergencies.
- Assist in conducting onboarding and various safety trainings under the direction of the EHS Manager.
- Help develop interactive safety trainings, safety programs, JHA’s & lockout procedures.
- Research and develop ideas for new safety concepts and safety training.
- Must be able to work day shift and some off shift hours to support safety activities across shifts.

- Bachelor’s degree; Prior work experience with relevant EHS duties can be substituted for degree requirement.
- Prefer minimum of 1-2 years of experience of Environment, Health, and Safety Field.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 10 / 30, RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER 8 or higher, DOT, First Aid, CPR & AED Training, Fall Protection Competent Person, confined Space Competant Person, and/or NFPA 70E.
- Working knowledge of safety & environmental compliance. (OSHA, RCRA, DOT)
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint & Forms)
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with employees across departments and all levels of the organization.
- Ability to influence others with positive, constructive communication.
- Aptitude for continual learning, reads and researches relevant subject matter to maintain current knowledge and competencies in the health and safety field.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes.
