Job Overview

The Wire EDM Operator is responsible for operating electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment to produce precision components according to specifications. Pay Rate:$19.25/hour

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Following prescribed quality procedures and verifying all dimensions for machining operations
  • Making tool or work position offsets to achieve dimensionally accurate products
  • Maintaining surface finish quality and changing tools as needed
  • Reviewing shop routers to confirm material specifications, quantities, and work instructions
  • Performing start-up procedures after machine crashes or major tool breakage
  • Supporting workplace organization by cleaning machines and returning tools and fixtures to designated areas
  • Reporting time and scrap accurately for job costing
  • Adhering to all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating a Wire EDM machine
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document processes
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
