Job Overview

Responsible for coordinating and maintaining product flow in and out of the facility to ensure that product is shipped correctly and as scheduled and to also ensure correct product is received.

A Day In The Life

· Inspect and verify all shipping and receiving order to ensure accuracy of shipment.

· Maintain and request supplies for area as needed.

· Maintain and process records pertaining to all shipping and receiving activities.

· Set up and operate all equipment in shipping and receiving area including; postage machine, UPS machine, and Fed-Ex machine.

· Make suggestions to supervisors for improvement of the shipping and receiving area.

· Perform daily clean up tasks to ensure work areas are clean and organized.

· Follow instructions; both written and verbal; from production control supervisors or shipping and receiving lead.

· Ensure proper packaging methods are used.

· Follow all procedures and requirements on exporting orders.

· Deliver all product received to the proper area.

· Process all returned goods.

· Instruct lesser skilled employees in shipping and receiving area.

· Operate computer as needed to check on and receive orders.

· Operate fork lift and other transportation equipment in the shipping and receiving area as needed.

· Regular attendance and punctuality is required

· Overtime, including weekends, as needed could be mandatory

· Must wear all PPE required for the specific work area

What will help you thrive in this role?

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.

· One (1) year experience in similar environment or six (6) months as Shipping and Receiving C with Continental.

· Knowledge of traffic management and export procedures.

· Must be able to read and interpret all shop orders.

· Have good knowledge of all specific parts manufactured.

· Must be able to read and interpret all shipping/receiving instructions

· Must have or be able to obtain a fork lift certification.

· General knowledge of computers and shipping/receiving machines and equipment a plus.
