Position Overview

 

We are hiring a Safety & Environmental Manager to our growing team!

 

Responsible to plan, develop, implement, and maintain all EHS Programs for the facility with the primary objective of eliminating workplace injuries and maintaining facility compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain written EHS programs for HGUS Broken Arrow.
  • Assist with the preparation, implementation and sustainability of EHS Programs and Initiatives.
  • Develop and administer programs to reduce work-related injuries and accidents.
  • Track and report on leading and lagging safety metrics.
  • Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) and Risk Reduction activities.
  • Coordinate and follow-up on Company's insurance provider's inspections and recommendations.
  • Provide company leaders with guidance on EHS matters.
  • Assist with the implementation of Hubbell EHS Policies, Procedures, Guidelines, and Best Practices.
  • Interact with Federal, State, and Local EHS regulatory agencies as required.
  • Participate in local or regional industry organizations to represent company's EHS interests.
  • Conduct facility assessments to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local EHS regulations as well as internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Gather data, prepare and submit required safety and environmental reports (internal and external).
  • Develop and provide EHS training to employees as needed.
  • Champion permitting and regulatory compliance efforts for new processes and equipment installations. 16. Analyze EHS data and regularly communicate with plant supervision on ideas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with consulting firms regarding program changes, remediation, and regulatory compliance issues. 18. Assist with accident, near miss, and first-aid investigations alongside the appropriate supervisor to identify incident root cause and develop corrective actions to eliminate the   hazard.
  • Supply EHS information to site personnel and Hubbell as requested. 20. Sponsor and provide guidance to the site's Safety Committee
  • Administer the facility's Waste Management Program with an emphasis on waste reduction and recycling  activities.

Skills and Experience

Core Competency Requirements

  • Familiar with the technical and safety standards and regulations, such as ANSI 2535 and OSHA 29CFR1910, affecting.
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets to meet federal, state, local  industry and other requirements.
  • Investigates and recommends technology and/or process changes to facilitate lowering safety risks, increased cost savings, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead regulatory agency visits, such as OSHA and EPA. Document, summarize, and communicate any action items from the visit.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in field of specialization through literature, meetings, courses, seminars and conferences.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Safety, Health, or Environmental discipline with 2-5 years prior EHS experience preferably in a manufacturing setting. Prior work experience with relevant EHS duties can be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.
  • Familiarity with dealing with local, state, and federal  regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products mandatory; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
