A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Coordinating and balancing department priorities with the various departments at plant locations.
  • Overseeing ongoing training of all department employees and ensuring team members are sufficiently cross-trained.
  • Providing support as needed for all manufacturing engineers, machine operators, supervisors, planners, etc.
  • Performing audits around the plant.
  • Creating work requests as needed to address department equipment issues.
  • Working with outside vendors to maintain calibration/service contracts for equipment.
  • Considering new technologies for manufacturing and deciding if new inspection equipment is needed.
  • Understanding what each role does in the quality department to fill in when needed.
  • Writing work instructions for new equipment as needed.
  • Collecting data and providing analyses.
  • Taking part in vendor visits for qualification and capability assessment of suppliers and for vendors to discuss Quality requirements.
  • Leading project management initiatives and bringing plant managers together to prepare for important issue reviews.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Quality Assurance, or a related field
  • Relevant quality certification preferred
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience (required)
  • 6+ years of leadership experience (required)
  • Experience in leading audits
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and presentation
  • Ability to implement statistical tools
