Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The HR Manager is responsible for providing practical, consistent, and proactive support, direction and advice to other division managers on HR procedure, policy, best practice, employment rewards, benefits, and legislation to facilitate in achieving the objectives and targets of an organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Defining the learning strategy and recruitment, setting high standard principles and providing likely solutions. Providing pragmatic and consistent guidance and advice to managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary, and performance issues.
  • Raising proactive issues with managers, identifying practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues, and recommending appropriate action plans.
  • Compiling and managing case management documentation, accompany and support managers.
  • Briefing new managers on the policies and procedures of an organization in conjunction with development and learning team, providing coaching to managers on difficult and complex issues.
  • Liaising with managers on recruiting needs, salary levels, job descriptions for prospective staff.
  • Ensuring payroll process is completed as regulated by law and company policy.
  • Reviewing and revising HR policies in compliance with changing or new state and federal laws.
  • Developing personal policies, maintaining and updating policy manuals as well as employee handbooks as needed.
  • Organizing and conducting employee testing and recruitment programs.
  • Keeping managers informed on anti-discrimination laws and provide training.
  • Receiving employee complaints and acting accordingly to resolve them.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management
  • Eight (8) + years experience working in HR Management position
