Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of an agile team to develop procedures for ensuring on-time, on-quality delivery of a Cloud-based SAAS solution.
  • Develop automation plans, test plans & test cases to provide efficient primary and regression test coverage of scrum team deliverables.
  • Execute functional, system, regression, and performance tests as required.
  • Automate test cases using a Specflow, Ruby, Cucumber, and Gherkin based framework
  • Provide accurate estimates and status updates.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of open issues and potential risks.
  • Document bugs with details and supporting materials to enable developers to reproduce and address efficiently.
  • Effectively communicate with remote and local team members.
  • Review product requirements, functional specs, and design specifications to create comprehensive test cases.
  • Communicate project risks as soon as possible and offer viable mitigation strategies.
  • Design and build realistic test environments.
  • Host review sessions and provide constructive feedback to developers as well as other test engineers.
  • Work with the support organization to quickly resolve customer issues.

Skills and Experience

  1. 5+ years of prior experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  2. 3+ years of experience with responsibility for developing automation plans, test plans & test cases.
  3. 2+ years of experience performing test automation.
  4. 2+ years of experience testing web applications.
  5. Experience testing solutions developed on Microsoft platforms.
  6. 1+ years of experience with a programming or scripting language.
  7. Prior experience with Cucumber or demonstrated ability to rapidly learn test automation frameworks.
  8. Ability to work both independently and as a cross-functional team member.
  9. Understanding of relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  10. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of software development lifecycle.
  11. Excellent communication skills.
  12. Demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills.
  13. Excellent time management skills, including multi-tasking and prioritization.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering General
