Position Overview

Hubbell Research is responsible for conceiving of, maturing, and demonstrating novel technologies to be used throughout Hubbell’s extensive product line. We are conducting applied research in power system sensing, analysis, and control. This requires extremely talented, highly motivated, and productive researchers in data analytics, ML/AI, distributed computing and data science.

The Junior data scientist is a member of the research staff.  He will make novel contributions as a theorist, experimentalist, or practitioner. Qualified candidates will have excellent critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct individual research in energy distribution sensing, analysis, and control.
• Make contributions to scientific and engineering understanding by application of first principals with scientific and mathematical rigor.  Test and codify abstract ideas to explain observed phenomenon.
• Conduct laboratory and field experiments to test hypotheses.  Analyze data collected in this way to prove or disprove hypotheses. 
• Implement newly developed technologies in prototype platforms for experimentation and demonstration.
• Provide written documentation of research.
• Communicate research to stakeholders throughout Hubbell.
