Position Overview

The Hubbell Automation Solutions (HAS) Business Unit creates cutting edge, custom automation equipment for deployment in Hubbell manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.

The Sr. Automation Project Manager is primarily responsible for the end-to-end project management of complex automation projects. This includes coordinating with Engineering, Operations and sr. management to identify and develop new automation projects and developing the technical requirements. This position will coordinate and manage a portfolio of projects – ranging in size, cost and complexity – and ensure the timely completion and successful implementation of each (including those designed and built at HAS).

The individual selected for this role will also manage day-to-day activities for the HAS Facility as well as build and present monthly business and technical updates for management.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Sr. Automation Project Manager will work with Hubbell business units (internal customers) to develop technical specifications, oversee vendors, identify viable automation projects, monitor the design & build of custom automation equipment, and direct change of path from original concept as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage the funnel of projects that Hubbell Automation Solutions will craft and build.
  • Develop and present proof of concept ideas for viable automation projects, including feasibility studies and risk estimates.
  • Develop specifications and quotes for those projects
  • Maintain all documents, technical specifications and project files
  • Manage development process with Automation Solutions engineering, customers, vendors, etc.
  • Supervise, develop and mentor the Engineering team
  • Other responsibilities as required by Supervisor
  • Position requires travel.

Skills and Experience

•    7+ years of relevant experience 
•    Experience with automation components; motors, servos, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, cams, hydraulics, pneumatics and other devices
•    Experience with project management 
•    Strong communication skills to professionally interface with internal and external personnel
•    Strong organization and time management skills
•    Ability to read, interpret, and create a variety of types of mechanical prints and drawings
•    Experience with managing technical employees

Education

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
