Position Overview

The Hubbell Enterprise Marketing (HEM) Associate User Experience Designer is responsible for executing UX programs for Hubbell solutions and brands enterprise-wide. The Associate UX Designer will contribute to UX team activities from concept to production, collaborating with product departments. They are the constant champion of the user, employing innovative UX tools, techniques, and technologies to deliver best-in-class design across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create UX designs, including scenarios, wireframes, prototypes, testing and defining functional specifications to meet client needs
  • Participate in usability testing sessions with clients to ensure their voice is present in the design
  • Partner and participate on cross-functional teams to collaborate and execute strategies, projects and processes 
  • Apply usability principles and activities to all aspects of product and design. Oversee their implementation with a high attention to detail
  • Ensure the success of UX strategy and champion the best possible user experience 
  • Communicate user needs and prioritize appropriately throughout development process and across all touchpoints
  • Serve as a UX designer on projects with an ability to execute successfully with support from team leadership
  • Work with UX leads to understand and contribute on the experience strategy for projects 
  • Articulate UX decisions and present work to leads and stakeholders
  • Understand and utilize stakeholder or leadership feedback to improve designs

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field or an equivalent in working experience

  • 3+ years of experience in user experience, marketing or creative services

  • Ability to work with the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with InVision, omigraffle, sketch of
    similar tools required.

  • Proven success in delivering product projects in a large scale and in a complex
    business setting

  • Lean UX and Design Thinking experience needed - Portfolio of work examples is required

  • Strong at gaining consensus across multiple departments and leadership levels

  • Stellar problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to effectively prioritize

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with exemplary attention to

  • Effectively present UX and UI deliverables and prototypes (wireframes, workflows,
    prototypes, etc.) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholder

  • The ability to work with little to no supervision in delivering high quality work and is capable
    of effectively collaborating with global, cross-functional teams as needed

  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills

  • Ability to influence cross function groups to a unified direction

  • Stays current on best design tools, processes, and practices

  • Effectively collaborate with global, cross-functional teams as needed 

  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a result-driven environment
