UI/Front End Developer
Hubbell is seeking an UI/front-end developer to join our progressive and dynamic fast-paced enterprise and mobile applications team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting controls and applications. This is a hands-on development role that will directly contribute to the development and expansion of our cutting edge cloud-connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest software technologies and tools. You will be part of our fast-growing innovative technology design center located in Round Rock, TX, a hi-tech hub north of Austin.
We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver. You will be involved in the complete software development life cycle, seeing your work evolve from epics and user stories into a finished product in a hybrid agile environment. This will require a high degree of collaboration between highly-talented, cross-functional and geographically-dispersed development teams. You will work closely with industry-best product owners, UX designers and other design team members to understand the business needs, propose and develop end-to-end solutions.
- Design and architect front-end web and mobile applications
- Develop high-performing and reliable software components with latest front-end technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, React, etc.
- Collaborate with product owner and other software team members to develop innovative products and applications
- Participate in the definition of system functional requirements
- Research, assess and adapt to new technologies necessary for future enhancements of products
- Work with UX designers to develop user centric and reliable software products and services
- Protect intellectual property through patent disclosures and applications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
- Minimum of 2 years of software development experience with web-based applications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience creating cross-browser user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React), JSON, AJAX
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with back-end technologies – C#.NET, node.js, etc.
- Minimum 1 year of experience defining and using SQL to manipulate application data
- Experience of developing native or hybrid mobile applications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or closely-related discipline
- Working knowledge of Database Design, SQL Queries and transactions
- Experience developing JavaScript dashboarding and reporting solutions
- Working knowledge of Design Patterns
- Sound understanding of Agile development processes
- Knowledge of server configurations, including IIS and Apache configurations
- Hands-on experience implementing automated testing for JavaScript technologies, for both unit tests and integration tests
- Experience with IOS, Android or other mobile platforms
- Knowledge of cyber security vulnerability mitigation
- Experience working with geographically-dispersed teams
- Expert knowledge of best-practice software engineering methodologies, processes and technologies, with a passion for programming
- Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented programming and design principles
- Expert ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex design and coding challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and to follow directions
