Position Overview
Hubbell is seeking a Manager - System Testing & Release Management to join our progressive and dynamic fast-paced enterprise controls and mobile applications team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting controls and applications. This is a lead role that will be responsible for system test and sustaining teams which will include hiring and managing team members including hands-on role that directly contribute to the system testing and test automation of our cutting edge cloud-connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest software technologies and tools. You will be part of our fast-growing innovative technology design center to be located in Round Rock, TX, a hi-tech hub north of Austin.
We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver. You will be involved in the complete software development life cycle in a hybrid agile environment. This will require a high degree of collaboration between highly-talented, cross-functional and geographically-dispersed development and test teams. You will work closely with industry-best test engineers, developers, product owners and other design team members to understand business needs and system test end-to-end IoT solutions.
Job Requirements
- Hire and manage system test team
- Design, create, and execute comprehensive test strategies and test plans for each major product release
- Develop management systems and performance measurement dashboards to transparently track and report on test progress and test metrics.
- Engage with field service and development teams to troubleshoot field issues and provide hot fixes
- Develop a culture of automated testing that helps accelerate software delivery in a continuous integration and deployment environment
- Help manage our release management process and ensure the company is delivering a consistent product to customers across our entire product portfolio
- Review Market Requirements, Epics and User Stories, UX designs for testable requirements.
- Actively engage and provide feedback in design, stakeholder and sprint reviews
- Write and execute both manual and automated test cases.
- Automate Test cases using functional automation test tools and scripts for web and mobile applications
- Conduct exploratory testing to evaluate robustness and functionality of products.
- Use existing or propose new tools for reporting defects and track test case creation and execution to organize testing efforts
- Liaise with the Hubbell Cyber Security experts for vulnerability and penetrating testing to ensure products meet all cybersecurity requirements
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent in related field
•2 or more years of experience of leading test teams
•5 or more years of experience in developing test strategies, test plan, and test procedures and test plan
•5 or more years of experience in testing web-based applications on various browsers.
•5 or more years of experience in testing mobile applications.
•5 or more years of experience using test automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, Ranorex, etc.
•5 or more years of experience in working with RDBMS databases
•5 or more years of experience with test case management and defect tracking systems
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience working on scrum teams in an agile environment
•Experience working with field service teams
•Experience working with enterprise and device controls and IoT applications
•Experience working with geographically-dispersed teams
•Experience with one or more scripting language like python, java script, etc.
•Experience with one or more software development languages like C, C++, C#
