Job Overview
The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations. The primary responsibilities include releasing orders based on various criteria such as pick-up time/date and order complexity, ensuring that operations teams are consistently productive, and managing changes in scheduling, processing, and shipping as requested by customers. Responsible for prioritizing and processing customer orders, running daily expedited orders, and updating planning sheets. Facilitating communication between different personnel to ensure stock replenishment and meet specific brand deadlines. The role involves troubleshooting order issues, maintaining a strong working knowledge of all departmental functions, and using warehouse management systems to ensure efficient task completion and order delivery according to customer service level agreements (SLAs).
A Day In The Life
• Release orders based on pick-up time/date, order size, type, and complexity
• Responsible for keeping the operations teams busy with work or direction when work is limited
• Notifies Operations of all requested changes from the customer regarding scheduling, processing, and shipping
• Ensure all customer orders are waved and processed in order of priority
• Run daily air and expedited orders
• Updates the wave and wave planning sheet
• Ensures communication between Pickers and Replenishers for stock replenishment needs
• Plans to ensure various on-counter dates are met for the respective Brands
• Ensures daily pick workload tasks are completed by the Pickers
• Ensure tasks are correctly processed on the system
• Ensure all orders are delivered as per customer SLA
• Troubleshoots orders that fail to PGI
• Possess a strong working knowledge of all department groups, including Warehousing, Distribution and Transportation
• Review of upcoming work
• Set work into obtainable work groups, re-prioritization when necessary
• Assign and monitor the work of various warehouse personnel
• Complete the waves in warehouse management system
• Ensure loads are completed by pick-up time and reprioritize work
• Serve as back-up to Wave Planner
• Other duties as assigned
What will help you thrive in this role?
• A minimum of 2-4 years of distribution experience in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Able to be a team player, maintain a positive attitude and lead by example
• Working knowledge of SAP and/or Blue Yonder required
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate flexibility to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals/demands and schedule
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex, time-sensitive tasks
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
• Strong attention to detail for accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory control
