Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect the assigned work station for correct supplies and equipment for the production order to be worked.
- Maintain the work area for neat and orderly condition, including flushing the cell of any unnecessary materials between each change over.
- Complies with the production orders, drawings, and work instructions applicable to the product being built.
- Notifies supervisor of unresolved issues, any identified sources of potential production, safety, or quality issues.
- Complies with all plant/safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
- Reporting inventory discrepancies to their Group Leads and/or Supervision immediately.
- Label material according to customer guidelines and/or warehouse standard operating procedures.
- Assist Picking as required, maintenance of inventory via Kanban/Supermarket procedure, and assist all supporting functions as needed in continuous improvement of the manufacturing work cells.
- Other duties may be assigned per Supervision in order to support business needs.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of appropriate handling, assembly, fabrication, quality, safety, and warehouse standards.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and become familiar with all work instructions related to work being performed.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations with hand held calculator.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete required written and oral duties and instructions.
- Ability to handle regular job problems within a defined area of responsibility using basic problem-solving skills.
- Requires ability to operate various material movement equipment.
- Frequently required to walk; stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; full range of motion of hands and arms; reach with hands and arms; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally required to sit.
- Ability and willingness to communicate with coworkers, support staff, leadership, supervision, and management regarding questions, suggestions, and various interactions in order to continuously improve processes, tooling conditions, and the general work environment.
